Case Study Bates offices external decoration
Requirement:
Exterior decoration of all Crittal windows, woodwork and metal staircases in 2015
Solution:
Risk and method statements were put together prior to starting work. We carried out preparation of woodwork to uncover any rot and wrote up an additional quote for prior to paint repairs. Our decorators used the Repaircare system, a long lasting 2 part resin system for treating rotten substrates.
All defective putties were removed and replaced using Repaircare putty, giving an extended lifespan.
We carried out the project using the Dulux Weathershield system, giving an 8 year lifespan. We hired a 21m and a 12m cherry picker to provide access, saving our client scaffold costs.
Results:
The lifespan of this job will be around 5-8years, depending on elevation & sun exposure. The work was completed in 5 weeks and it was featured in the PDA magazine, ‘The Decorator.’
Update April 2022, we are back to carry out the same project after 7 years.
