Overview
British Gaskets Ltd contacted Anglia Decor to quote their 1,000m² industrial floor at their Sudbury facility. The existing floor coating was flaking and failing across the main production area, and several pedestrian walkways required repositioning to accommodate new plant installations. The project demanded a durable resin flooring system with clearly defined traffic separation to meet HSE workplace safety guidelines.
Surface Preparation and Scheduling
Anglia Decor carried out this project over the Christmas shutdown period to minimise disruption to British Gaskets' production operations. Our resin flooring team began by diamond grinding the entire 1,000m² floor area to remove the failed coating and create a clean, profiled substrate with a strong mechanical key. All surface defects, cracks, and damaged sections were filled and levelled to provide a smooth, even base for the new resin system.
Resin Coating System Applied
We applied a light grey resin floor coating to the main production and storage areas, providing a hard-wearing, chemical-resistant surface suited to British Gaskets' industrial environment. Once the grey base coat had fully cured, our team returned to mask out and apply 2 coats of a red contrast colour to form the new pedestrian walkways. The red walkway markings create a clear visual separation between pedestrian routes and forklift or vehicle traffic zones, helping British Gaskets meet HSE requirements for workplace traffic management.
Results
Anglia Decor completed the British Gaskets resin flooring project within 5 days, on time and on budget. The facility now has a fully coated, clearly marked industrial floor with repositioned pedestrian walkways that reflect the updated plant layout. British Gaskets' Sudbury site is safer, cleaner, and fully compliant with workplace traffic separation requirements.
