The Project
Anglia Decor carried out a full cladding respray at the Toomey dealership in Rochford, Essex. The project involved pressure washing the existing panels, removing old signage, filling surface defects, and masking all sensitive areas before applying a professional spray finish. The coating system used was Guard ELC combined with Metal Unicoat, delivering a clean, uniform finish with an expected lifespan of 10 to 15 years.
The cladding at Toomey Rochford had deteriorated over time, with faded panels, surface damage, and remnants of old signage that needed stripping back. Rather than replacing the cladding entirely, a full respray offered a cost-effective solution that restored the building to a like-new appearance without the disruption and expense of new panels.
Anglia Decor handled the complete process on site. The team began with a thorough pressure wash to remove dirt, algae, and loose material. Old signs were carefully removed, and any surface defects, including dents, cracks, and fixing holes, were filled and smoothed. All windows, doors, and surrounding areas were masked to protect them from overspray.
Coating System
The respray used Guard ELC as the primer layer, followed by Metal Unicoat as the topcoat. This combination delivers excellent adhesion to metal cladding, strong UV resistance, and a durable finish rated for 10 to 15 years. The system is designed specifically for exterior metal cladding on commercial and industrial buildings, providing long-term colour retention and weather protection.
Why Respray Over Replace
Full cladding replacement on a commercial building is a significant investment. A professional cladding respray achieves a comparable visual result at a fraction of the cost. The process takes less time, causes less disruption to the business, and avoids the waste associated with stripping and disposing of old panels. For dealerships and retail premises where appearance matters, respraying is a practical way to maintain a professional frontage.
