Overview
Anglia Decor carried out the safe removal of 8,000m² of asbestos cement roofing and the installation of a new high-performance composite roofing system at the New Holland Tractor Manufacturing Plant in Basildon. The works were delivered within a live industrial manufacturing environment, requiring meticulous planning, strict safety controls, and close coordination with ongoing site operations. The project commenced in November 2025 and was successfully completed by the end of January 2026.
Scope of Works
All works were carried out in compliance with current HSE regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and site-specific safety requirements. The completed installation carries a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Health, Safety and Environmental Management
Given the presence of asbestos and the operational nature of the New Holland facility, health and safety was the primary driver throughout the project. A fully compliant asbestos removal and replacement process was implemented, including controlled removal methods, continuous air monitoring, and certified waste disposal through approved facilities. Edge protection was installed prior to any roof works commencing, providing collective fall protection across the entire roof perimeter. Underside safety netting was fitted to protect personnel below and prevent any debris reaching the occupied manufacturing floor.
Detailed RAMS, asbestos plans of work, and site inductions were completed and approved prior to commencement. All works were phased to minimise disruption to ongoing manufacturing operations within the plant. The project was completed with zero reportable incidents, reflecting the effectiveness of the safety systems and site management protocols put in place by Anglia Decor.
Roofing Solution
The existing asbestos roof was replaced with Kingspan 100mm composite roof panels, providing a modern, durable, and energy-efficient roofing solution for the New Holland plant.

New Holland now has a fully compliant, high-performance roofing system with a 25-year warranty, improved thermal efficiency, enhanced natural lighting, and modern rainwater management.
