The Project
The existing latex floor covering had reached the end of its service life and needed stripping out completely before any new system could be installed. Latex is a common floor levelling compound used beneath tiles, vinyl, and carpet, but when left exposed or when the covering above fails, it breaks down quickly under foot and vehicle traffic. Applying a resin coating directly over latex is not viable – the bond fails and the new system delaminates.
Anglia Decor removed the full 120m² of latex mechanically, stripping back to the concrete substrate. The exposed concrete was then diamond ground to create a clean, level surface with enough texture for the resin to bond properly. All dust and debris were vacuumed before coating.
Coating System
The floor received 2 coats of high-build resin coating, providing a thick, durable film that seals the concrete and resists chemical spills, impact, and heavy traffic. High-build systems outperform standard floor paints in every measurable way – they last longer, resist damage better, and maintain their appearance under daily industrial use.
The Team
This project was delivered by Alan and Will, handling the full process from latex removal through to the final coat of resin.
