Requirement:
Prior to paint repairs and external decoration of 173 flats

Solution:

Risk and method statements were put together prior to starting work. We carried out preparation work to uncover any areas of rot and wrote up an additional quote for prior to paint repairs. Our decorators are trained and experienced in the Repaircare system, a long lasting 2 part resin system for treating rotten substrates.
We cleared out gutters, repaired any broken sections and washed down all UPVC goods. The project was carried out using Dulux Weathershield Ultimate wood stain and Dulux Metalshield. We hired a 16 meter mobile elevated work platform and a 21 meter tracked cherry picker. The courtyard areas required scaffold, as they were not accessible by cherry picker.

Results:
The lifespan of this job will be around 7-8 years. We completed this job with no complications and the managing agent was pleased with the standard of the finish. The access costs for this project were kept to a minimum by using mobile elevated work platforms where possible, meaning a saving of 1/3 on the total cost of the project compared to the other 2 quoted received by our client.
