Concrete Sealer
Why use a concrete sealer?
Dusty concrete can cause problems to expensive machinery and once airborne poses a risk to health for workers when breathed in. It also makes more work in the way of cleaning and general maintenance.
Application of a concrete sealer is a cost effective way to harden your concrete floor, make it more robust and reduce the issue of dust. The floor needs to be in good condition. A water based concrete sealer will not give your floor resistance to chemicals & acid. Clear resin sealer will give chemical resistance and a longer lifespan.
Old Slabs- clean & seal.
After years of heavy usage your industrial floor will have picked up wear and tear, forklift tyre marks, discolouration and even surface breakdown. We can clean your floor using a diamond grinder to remove the top layer of concrete. To finish we apply a concrete sealer / concrete hardener that will help reduce dust levels.Â
Dilapidations- removing line markings and sealing
We are able to diamond grind to remove any line markings and walkways, then seal the floor with Everbuild concrete sealer.
Types of concrete sealers
Clear epoxy sealers will give a durable and long lasting finish. They resist chemical and soil spills and offer a dry film thickness of 200 microns per coat and have a gloss finish. Epoxy sealers are not UV stable.
Silicone based sealers will soak into the concrete and prevent water ingress once applied. We use Stormdry, it makes the concrete slightly darker for a few weeks then returns to its normal colour.
Polyurethane sealers are 2 part resin based, giving high traffic resistance and are UV stable. They cure to a gloss finish and are suitable for both internal and external floors.Â
Water based epoxy sealers are best suited to new concrete with high moisture content. A 2 part system giving a dry film thickness of 100 microns per coat.
Concrete sealer contractors
We carried out a diamond grind to this industrial floor in London & applied 2 coats of concrete sealer. The video shows the application of 2nd coat by sprayer and back roll. This industrial unit was a film set for an upcoming movie, ‘Cash Truck.’ The movie set had areas of the floor painted. These coatings had to be removed when handing back the industrial unit.

Frequently asked questions
A clear resin sealer is 7 times thicker than most sealers, will last longer and is suitable for heavy traffic.
A water based sealer is easier to apply and can be redone frequently as needed.
If using an epoxy sealer it is best to diamond grind as this will give maximum lifespan. If using a water based sealer they can just be applied without prep.
Yes sealers work on old concrete. It may help refresh the floor by diamond grinding first to clean then using the sealer.
If concrete sealer is applied too heavy it will give a shiny appearance when dried. This will look different to the rest of the floor. It is better to apply 2 even coats over 2 days allowing time for each to dry.
If using a water based sealer it should last 2-3 years. If using an epoxy sealer this will last 5-6 years.
If you have a new concrete floor it is best to wait 4-5 weeks before applying a concrete sealer. This gives time for the relative humidity of the floor to drop below 75%.
TogglIf you pour a small amount of water on the surface, it will either soak into the concrete within a minute, meaning it it porous and could benefit from sealing. Alternatively it may bead up and sit on the surface, this is a sign the concrete is already sealed.e Content
If using a water based sealer we use a backpack sprayer to apply then back roll to ensure no puddles are left on the surface.
If using an epoxy we apply with a solvent resistant roller and cut in edges with a brush.
