For most new industrial buildings, a resin floor laid over a properly prepared concrete slab is the best all round choice. It is seamless, hard wearing, easy to clean, and can be specified for forklift traffic, chemical resistance, or anti-slip safety. The right system depends on how the building will be used.
Why does the slab matter so much?
The concrete slab is the foundation of every floor finish. Get the thickness, reinforcement, falls, and curing right and the finish on top will last for decades. Rush it and no coating will save you. On a new build we design the slab and the finish together, which is one of the advantages of handling the whole industrial building construction in house.

Which resin system suits which building?
Epoxy resin is the workhorse for warehouses and storage. Polyurethane handles temperature swings and chemicals, so it suits food production and cold areas. MMA cures in hours where downtime is critical. For a new warehouse we usually specify the floor as one of the last trades, once the building is weathertight.
What about heavy traffic and loading?
Forklifts, pallet trucks, and racking loads all bear on the floor. A warehouse floor in a new build is specified for point loads and abrasion from day one, which is far cheaper than retrofitting later. Our guide to warehouse build costs shows where flooring sits in the budget.
Planning the floor into your build
Because we deliver warehouse construction from the ground up, we sequence the floor around the rest of the programme rather than treating it as an afterthought. That keeps the overall build time tight and the finish flawless.
