See image of our completed project at Woodham Mortimer Hall, a 17th century listed building.   Should there be areas of substantial rot with substrates in need of replacement we have a carpenter to complete these works. For minor areas of rot we have Repair care system trained operatives.

Any glazing work can be completed at the same time with matching period glass. Our decorators have experience in lime wash and long lasting decoration of sash windows. We can prepare and treat hardwood substrates using Omso 420 oil to provide lasting protection and help reduce the harmful effects of the sun.

Period Property Decorators

We have carried out numerous projects painting listed buildings. For this one our operatives used a cherry picker to gain access to upper levels. The project included prior to paint repairs along with work to masonry, sash windows, metalwork and lime washed areas in a courtyard.

Our team of painters started preparation work to remove any defective paint and uncover any areas of rot. The defective window putties were removed and rebates primed. We replaced the putty with a Windowcare version giving a longer lifespan.
The repairs were carried out using the Repaircare system. Any larger areas of rot that put substrates beyond repair were replaced.

We used the Dulux Weathershield system, giving an eight-year lifespan. Previously oiled hardwood finishes were treated with Osmo420 to protect substrates from UV damage and further weathering.

The courtyard areas were accessed by scaffold. We filled any imperfections and gave the walls a lime wash primer. This was completed with two coats of a buttermilk tinted lime wash, keeping a wet edge to avoid any flashing.
