Case Study- St Mary’s Fields

We quoted this section 20 project to redecorate 18 blocks of flats at Colchester, Essex. We won the project and compiled RAMS & arranged scaffold quotes to areas that were not accessible via cherry picker.

We hired in several cherry pickers to provide access for this project. Some areas required cherry pickers with 25m reach as a few blocks were 5 floors high. There were also areas that could only be accessed via rough terrain, we hired in tracked cherry pickers to provide access. One of the blocks needed a cherry picker picker with a boom arm that could bend around a corner as extended.

We used scaffold and mobile access towers to gain access to several blocks. The aim was to get the scaffolded areas complete quickly so as not to disturb the residents.

Our team carried out prior to paint repairs using the RapairCare system, a 2 part resin providing a 10 year warranty. These repairs were identified at the preparation stage of the works, we took pictures and costed separately. Once we received the go ahead from Red Rock Property Management, the repairs were completed and then painted.


8 year lifespan redecoration

The project specified using the Dulux Weathershield system. It consists of a water based primer and bringing the primed areas forward with undercoat. Then a solid Weathershield undercoat and a solid gloss. The masonry work was painted in Weathershield masonry.

The project was completed on time and to a high standard. We Had positive feedback from the property managers who oversaw the project.
